Sorry I can’t help it. But that was my reaction when I heard Jejomar Binay’s declaration of his bid for presidency. It’s fine to have an ambition, but to likened himself to the US President-elect Barack Obama is way too much.
Obviously, I’m not a Binay fan.
Other that the shades of his skin, there is absolutely nothing he has in similarity with the first black American president. For starters, Obama is young and barely a neophyte, a newbie really in the political scene. Binay on the other is a seasoned veteran, some would actually classify him as a ‘traditional politician’ who has been strutting his stuff even before I was even qualified to vote.
No, I’m not from Makati (fortunately).
Binay impresses me as a bully, who has been throwing his weight around. How many times has he been bullying BF (there’s my man) and contradicting all his plans? I guess he’s doing that because he never thought of them when he was still the MMDA Chairman, making him look like an ineffective traffic czar (which he is).
In fairness to guy, he is the only one I know who remained a loyal oppositionist and remained loyal to Erap, unlike those other loudmouths in the two houses who for a while turned their back against the former president to save their guts.
Whatever I say here anyway, won’t really matter. After all, it is still his legal right a citizen of this country to aim for the highest position.
Having an ambition is not bad, but please don’t ride on somebody else’s cape.
