When you are the daughter of boxing great Manny Pacquiao, it would seem to be so unfitting to have an ordinary baptism.
And ordinary it was not!
I’m referring to the baptism of Pacquiao’s youngest daughter Queen Elizabeth Pacquiao, in a ceremony that is definitely fitting for a queen.
The baptism of Queenie had a fairy-tale-themed reception in a convention center in General Santos City, and was even made more special a very intriguing list of of ‘ninongs’ and ‘ninangs’ who are 16 and 32 in numbers respectively. That’s a total of 48 godparents!
This list includes politicians like Vice-president Noli de Castro, senators Manny Villar, Jinggoy Estrada, Miguel Zubiri and more senators. TV personalities Korina Sanchez, Annabelle Rama, Philip Salvador and lots of other big names from every sector imaginable.
With such a list, it was suspected that Pacquiao is gearing up for his 2010 political plans. Maybe he failed the last time, but his victory over Oscar dela Hoya might have beefed up his chances. Who knows?! (I’m not from his district anyway)
Queenie, the fourth child of the Pacquiao couple born in California on December 30, 2008, was baptized in the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish Churc today, February 22, 2009.
