Excuse letter from President Obama

10 year old Kennedy Corpus missed school, and she has a good reason. She was with President Obama.

Yes, Kennedy got an excuse letter from President Obama for being absent from school. There’s a valid reason for being absent.

The girl was with her father, John Corpus of Green Bay to attend President Barack Obama’s town hall-style meeting at Southwest High School. When John asked the president about health care, he siad that his daughter was with him and missed school, and added at that he hoped she won’t get in trouble.

The president then asked “Do you need me to write a note?” The audience laugh, but Obama was serious but proceeded in writing the excuse letter after asking the girl’s name.

He then stepped off stage and delivered the letter, to Kennedy’s surprise, which reads

“To Kennedy’s teacher: Please excuse Kennedy’s absence. She’s with me. Barack Obama.”

Kennedy said later: “I thought he was joking until he started walking down. It was like the best thing ever.”

The girl of course, wouldn’t give her teacher the actual letter. It’s a rare piece. She made a copy to give to her teacher, and she had the original letter framed.
