NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers by his team, the Phoenix Suns. In exchange for Shaq, Suns will get Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic and the 46th pick in Thursday’s draft.
With the Cavs led by its own superstar LeBron James, USA Today asks, can Shaq and LeBron co-exist?
Perhaps they will, and they should… although we really can’t tell who will have more game maturity. But admit it or not, LeBron can definitely make use of Shaq’s help to finally get the Cavs to the NBA finals after 45 years.
Of course, there would always be opposing views. Charley Rosen of Fox Sports says Shaq won’t be much of help to the Cavaliers because “with Shaq clogging the paint, there’d be precious little room for LeBron James’ powerhouse drives. In fact, the presence of Shaq would mostly limit LBJ’s offense to the most inefficient aspect of his game: his jump-shooting.”
See his other reasons why Rosen believes Shaq won’t be of much help to the Cavs.
Well, all we can do really now is analyze and speculate. But we just have to see what will transpire in the next NBA season.
