In the latest Pulse Asia Survey, Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer, Senator Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III is a top favorite.
In the report by Philippine Star, Aquino continues to dominate presidential polls, and is leading by a “big margin” over “Nacionalista Party” standard-bearer Senator Manuel Villar. The Star based their reports on Pulse Asia’s October surver on Filipinos’ Preferences for the May 2010 Elections.
According to the survey Aquino attracted 44 percent support in a poll of preferred presidents, with Villar a distant second with 19 percent.
Likewise, Aquino’s running mate, Senator Manuel Roxas also leads on the same survey for the vice presidential race at 37 percent.
The survey indeed shows the strength of the Noynoy-Mar tandem.
However, a big blow to Noynoy’s candidacy, and could be the biggest test for him, is the resolution to the Hacienda Luisita massacre which was commemorated by militant groups on Monday, the 5th year of the bloody encounter.
This I believe is Noynoy’s biggest hurdle in his candidacy. How he solve, or even approach it, could make or break his end.
