Press Secretary Cerge Remonde passes away

It was in the twitter and facebook updates all day long, I had to wait to get home to get all the details about the death of Press Secretary Cerge Remonde.

Remonde passes away at the age of 51. He was found unconscious and “slumped inside the bathroom” of his home. He was immediately rushed to the Makati Medical Center where doctors tried, but failed to revive him.

A staunch defender of President Arroyo, Remonde was said to have died of heart attack. Reports said he wasn’t breathing and had no pulse and heart beat when he was brought into the emergency room.

Following his death, President Arroyo appointed Conrado Limcaoco Jr. as acting press secretary.

Prior to his office as press secretary, Limcaoco was the director-general of the Philippine Information Agency.
